Who, When, Why?
We recently flew from London to New Delhi in the British Airways Club Suites. If you're wondering how we could afford to fly our family of four in business class from Boston to Delhi, India for less than the cost of economy, check out our post here!
We flew from Boston to London in the old British Airways business class which we will review soon, but the second leg of our journey from London to Delhi was in the new Club Suites and we were blown away! Granted, this was our first business class experience, but my husband and I have done 10+ long haul flights in economy and this was seriously game changing! Typically I reach a moment in every long haul flight where I quite literally want to jump out of the plane and I question why I ever wanted to travel to begin with, but in business class, there was no such moment. I was so comfortable that I had to keep pinching myself to make sure I was actually not dreaming. Every time I laid my seat flat, I kept thinking, am I really flying right now?! We've dreamed of flying business class on long haul flights for years, and now I'd have to say we are hooked!
Business Class Amenities in the Airport
British Airways Business Class is called Club World. With a Club World ticket you get access to priority check in, priority security lines (in Boston anyways as this may be airport specific), generous baggage allowances (max weight of 70 lbs for 2 checked bags vs 50 lbs in economy class), lounge access in the airports, and priority boarding.
British Airways Galleries T5B Club Lounge at London Heathrow Airport
After disembarking our first flight from Boston to London, we made our way to the terminal. They were routing all passengers through Terminal A for a security check where we had to pull out our liquids, computers, and phones. We kept our shoes on. After we left security, we headed to the closest British Airways Lounge as we thought our connecting flight was leaving via Terminal A. A friendly agent at the check in desk let us know our flight would now be leaving from Terminal C and that there is a much less crowded lounge right above our gate. We turned around and headed back to Terminal C (which was where we had just landed) utilizing the shuttle train. You can read our full review of the T5B Club Lounge here, but in summary, it was so nice to have a comfortable place to relax away from the crowds with free food and COFFEE!

In Flight Entertainment
British Airways in flight entertainment center is large in the Club Suite. It measures 18 in diagonally and offers a variety of TV shows (including recent hits from Paramount Plus and HBO), movies (old and new), games, podcasts, and music. The kids selection was also pretty broad and our two boys didn't run out of things to watch or games to play the entire trip. I watched 3 movies with some of my favorite actors, Tom Cruise, Bradley Cooper, and Steve Carell. All of this in extreme comfort and to be honest, I didn't want the flight to end! The screen is touch screen and no one in our family of 4 had any issues with the responsiveness of the screen or the in flight entertainment freezing up. There is also a controller in one of the side storage compartments that doubles as a controller for the games. Overall, we were entertained by the system and all 4 of us were able to find things to watch or play for the entire flight.
Boarding
Boarding was quick and easy with Club World. We were boarding group 2 after families with young children and people who needed additional time to board (i.e. those utilizing wheelchair assistance and etc.) We quickly went through the boarding scans and then headed onto the aircraft. A pleasant crew greeted us and we were directed to our suites. There was plenty of storage space in the overhead bins for our bags and the crew also offered to store our bedding kits in the bins until we needed them as well. We were served a welcome drink of champagne or orange juice just after we boarded before the flight even took off. The crew also brought us a menu for the flight and were available to assist with any questions or requests we had. Our boys quickly settled into the entertainment center and hubby and I explored the suite. There was a blanket and pillow, an amenity kit, bottle of water, and noise cancelling headphones. There were three small compartments to store things like our phones, boarding passes, and other loose items. The set up for club world is 1:2:1 and we had a row together. The kids took the window seats and hubby and I were in the middle. There is a screen that can be rolled up or down in between the two middle seats, but we chose to keep it down. The seats also have a door you can close that really makes it feel like your own private suite when you have it closed and your bed laid flat during the flight. Overall, boarding was incredibly smooth and we didn't have anything to complain about.

Overall Opinion
Overall, we'd recommend British Airways Business Class Club Suites. They were spacious, private, comfortable, and our service was impeccable.
Of course, this was our first business class experience so we can't compare this to any other business class yet. And due to the high taxes and fees of flying through London, the taxes and fees for this redemption were somewhat of a bummer. In the future, we hope to book even better business class and even first class award flights. Of course, we will be booking these with points and miles. I can't imagine paying cash for business class, but I'm sure there is a time and place where it could be worth it. I've read blog posts of great cash deals that occur at times, but award flight redemptions seems to be the way to go!
If you are curious about how you can book these kinds of award flights and want to learn how to start travel hacking, check out this post.
Would we fly them again?
Most definitely! And if you have the option to fly British Airways Club Suites on a long haul flight, we doubt you will regret the experience!

Club Suite
Now for the suite itself, we were all impressed. The seat was comfortable and even 6ft tall ND was comfortable. There was a touch screen on the right side of the chair that allowed you to adjust the recline to your liking and to lay the seat fully flat for some true relaxation in the skies.
Service
I've heard it said that British Airways doesn't have the best service, but as far as our trip from Boston to Delhi, we didn't have any complaints. The check in attendant was quick and efficient, the gate staff helpful and organized, and the flight attendants attentive and pleasant! We were offered drinks and snacks many times throughout the 8.5 hour flight and service was quick. They were very kind to our children and willing to offer any assistance we required.
Food
During the 8.5 hour daytime flight, we were served lunch and a light meal. For lunch you had a choice between 3 appetizers, 3 main courses, and 3 desserts. All meals were also served with bread and a small cold salad. The flight attendants came through shortly after take-off to take our food and drink order. I ordered the soup for the appetizer and chicken for the main course. The soup was absolutely delicious! I could've eaten 2 more bowls. I also ordered chicken and the apple crumble dessert. In business class, alcohol drinks are also included and I ordered a specialty cocktail that was delicious and came while waiting for my meal. For the light meal offered shortly before landing, I had the quiche and the rest of the family had the bbq chicken sandwich. Both were delicious and served with a cold salad and bread. During the flight, snacks, tea and coffee, and other drinks were available upon request and the flight attendants were quick to offer service. They also came around with a bag of chocolate truffles at one point for a quick snack. Overall, the food was appealing and I'd be willing to eat it again. The service was smooth and fast. No complaints from our family!

There were three storage cubbies on the side console area, as well as a small storage space under the console where my small sling bag was able to fit easily. I was able to place my phone, AirPods, and charger in the top storage cubby. And the small cabinet cubby had a bottle of water and the White Company amenity kit. I was super thankful for the socks as I was wearing sandals and my feet were cold on the flight! There was also a sleep mask, lip balm, lotion, pulse point oil, and a toothbrush and toothpaste in a White Company Bag.

The seat itself was super comfortable. There was plenty of room to stretch out and get cozy! I especially loved that the seat was fully adjustable, private, and so cozy! I could sit cross legged with no issue, 6 foot hubby slept comfortably on the lie flat seat, and the doors make it feel so private.
